Intro
Juventus is one of the most successful football teams in the World.
Not many people know this Italian F.C is already over 120 years old, and the name “Iuventūs” actually stands for “youth”.
Wanna learn more about this incredible F.C? Keep reading this article and get the answer yourself.
Early Start
It all started with a group of young pupils from Turin, Italy, in 1897. They decided to establish a Sport-club and two years later changed it to “The Football Club Juventus” as we all know today.

The club officially joined their first professional game in 1900 at the Italian Football Championship.
In 1904, a businessman named Ajmone-Marsan decided to support the team in terms of finance. Thanks to him, Juventus moved to Velodrome Umberto I – a more proper training field. That is the first step leading to the first-ever league championship that Juventus won in 1905. This milestone also marked the beginning of the F.C’s legacy.
Juventus – The Legend
Talking about legacy, since Juventus is the only F.C ever who managed to earn multiple times Italian Seria A championships, Coppa Italia titles, and Suppercoppa Cups, the F.C’s achievements had always been every football team’s dreams:
- Italian Football Championship/ Serie A: 35 times
- Coppa Italia Cup: 13 times
- Supercoppa Italiana Cup: eight times
- European Champions’ Cup/UEFA Champions League: 2 times
- UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup: once
- UEFA Cup: three times
- UEFA Intertoto Cup: once
- UEFA SuperCup: twice
- Italian Serie B: once
- Intercontinental Cup: twice
Juventus’ Gold Players
Great players make the game, while Juventus has more than three! The first to mention is Gianluigi Buffon.
In Buffon, all the best elements make a great goalkeeper converged – tall, strong, sharp reflexes, good feet. This outstanding goalkeeper was the only goalkeeper who won the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year and was announced as the Best Goalkeeper in 2003. He was also named the IFFHS goalkeeper of the year four times, Serie A of the Year 8 times, and named the 21st century’s best goalkeeper.
Another gold kicker is Paulo Dybala – one of the World’s most valuable players. This young man is well-known for his unique style of playing and is considered an incisive attacking threat. Though the player does not plan to stay with Juventus for long, having Dybala on the team in this 2019-20 season is still promising a bright future.
Last to mention is superstar Christian Ronaldo – one of the best players of all time. He holds the record 34 hat-tricks in La Liga, including a ́8 hat-trick in 2014-15, and becomes the only player to score 30 or more goals in six seasons of La Liga in a row. Ronaldo is also the player who scored the most goals in the history of the UEFA Champions League with 126 goals.
Current Performance

Juventus set a triple goal for Serie A, Champions League, and Coppa Italia. Thus, the F.C started off the season pretty well with 24 wins, only 3 draws, and 3 losses. But, after losing to Napoli recently, it seemed like the Coppa Italia trophy dream won’t happen anytime soon with Juventus, at least in this season.
Lucky for Sarri’s team, the other teams are too weak and the ability to win the championship is very low. Lazio also lost two matches in a row, the gap between the two teams in the Serie A rankings is still 7 points. Cristiano Ronaldo is surprisingly in good shape for now. In the last 5 matches only, CR7 scored 5 goals and 2 assists.
Reality hurts, one CR7 could not save the day. If Juventus keeps on like this, there’s a chance they can lose Serie A too.
Final Thoughts
After all, nothing is forever. Lose and win make the game more mystic and charming.
No matter what happens, look back on Juventus’ long history of achievements, this team is definitely the most successful team in the history of Italian Football and the World.
