Atletico Madrid are performing superbly in the Laliga, while Real Madrid are vicious in the mess created by themselves. The two will meet in round 13 to confirm their ambitions this season.
A 2-0 win over Monchengladbach in the Champions League will give Real Madrid momentum on their return to La Liga. Los Blancos have shown some form in Europe and have to wait for the last leg to make it through to the Champions League group stages.
The same thing happened in Spain. In their last four domestic matches, Real Madrid have won only one and are currently fourth in the La Liga standings. Atletico, meanwhile, are in the lead.
Manager Diego Simeone has shown impressive form in La Liga, despite being in the group with the fewest games in the league (10 games) but Atletico Madrid are 26 points ad unbeaten (8 wins and 2 draws).
In the Champions League, Atletico also only fell once against an overly powerful Bayern Munich. Rojiblancos also qualified for the knockout stages with nine points and second place in Group A.
These factors all show that Atletico Madrid are a team with more advantages than Real. However, it should be remembered that the Royal Spanish side are in possession of an eight-match unbeaten streak against city rivals in La Liga alone.
