Barcelona is playing really poorly in La Liga, but in the Champions League they are still a giant worthy of respect. With high performance in the continental playground, plus only having to face a lower-body opponent like Dynamo Kyiv. A follow-up win and a go-to ticket were entirely feasible for manager Ronald Koeman.
Ronald Koeman’s side is currently top of Group G with a three-round winning streak. A win would give Barca early access to the inner circle and be able to take time off to rest.
In fact, the Catalan side have not been in good form in recent times. Last weekend, the reigning La Liga runners-up suffered a minimal defeat to Atletico Madrid, which dropped them to 10th on the table.
Marched to Atl.Madrid’s pitch with great confidence, but Barcelona embraced the same defeat with the minimum score. It can be said that the Catalan team is playing extremely well in La Liga this season. Whatever their goals before the step and this season is huge. Barcelona is currently only 12th in the standing, after taking home 11 points from eight legs. Even Ronald Koeman’s side have lost three of their last five La Liga games. Barcelona’s biggest mark to this day is in the Champions League. In those victories, they even beat Juventus (2–0) away from home. Having outs than their opponents in terms of strength, it is clear that Barcelona on the 10th chance of winning early tickets to focus on the La Liga playground.
The 11 points from eight matches was the worst result in the last 25 years for the Camp Nou hosts. Obviously there are big problems going on at Barca, but the performance in the European arena shows a different side, when they beat all three of their group rivals Ferencvaros, Juve and Dynamo.
Meanwhile, with one point from three matches, third place and relegation to the Europa League are more practical targets for representatives from Ukraine. In theory, they still have a chance to move on, but Kyiv’s level gap with the two big men on the board is simply too much.
Host Dynamo Kyiv is a team from Ukraine, in the continental playground they are a dominated force. Last season they were crowned champions worthily and are now doing quite well. Accordingly, after 10 rounds in the Ukrainian league, Dynamo Kyiv has 23 points and the top position in the rankings. But the story on the continental stage is very different, when their opponents are very strong. After three legs in the Champions League this season, Dynamo Kyiv has only one point with a draw against Ferencvaros. Dynamo Kyiv lost to both Juventus (0-2) and Barcelona (1–2). At the moment representatives from Ukraine are in 3rd place and have little chance to go forward. In terms of form, Dynamo Kyiv is also not too stable when winning 2 and also losing 2 of the last 5 appearances. Even at home, Dynamo Kyiv has won only one of the last five away games.
Marching to Ukraine, Koeman will surely field the best cards to settle the match soon, as well as the group stage campaign.
