Stadio San Siro – Milan, Group stage – Group H

AC Milan beat Celtic away from home but they were blocked from winning serie A. And this second leg they will host Czech sparta Prague at home San Siro.

Let watch on ESPN at 5:55 PM, Thu 29 Oct

Hakan Calhanoglu returned from injury in AC Milan’s 3–3 draw with Roma. Leo Duarte was one of the substitutes after a break. The Serie A giants lost both Gianluigi Donnarumma and rookie Jens Petter Hauge to COVID-19 this week while Ciprian Tatarusanu fouled out in the goal against Roma in Donnarumma’s absence so his brother Antonio was also an option in goal. Age is nothing more than numbers for 39-year-old Zlatan Ibrahimovic but his playing time will have to be managed at one stage this season as the Swedish striker is flying high in Serie A.

Morning star Lorenzo Colombo, 18, was an option when Ante Rebic was injured while players like Diogo Dalot , Sandro Tonali, Brahim Diaz and Samu Castillejo were in the starting line-up against Sparta Prague. AC Milan came into this match after a dramatic 3–3 Serie A draw against Roma and all three times they were in the lead. In that match, AC Milan held the ball 53% and had 13 bombardments, of which 8 were on target, goals scored by Zlatan Ibrahimović (2′, 79′) and Alexis Saelemaekers (47′). Three or more goals per game have been scored in five of the last six matches in which AC Milan have played and their opponents have scored seven goals in these matches while the Rossoneri have a total of 15 goals.

Ibrahimovic is still leading the team to victories

AC Milan are on an impressive unbeaten streak in recent years. This achievement shows that Paolo Maldini’s plans for the Rossoneri are very in the right direction. The faces that Maldini brought to AC Milan have all played well in the past period, namely Ismael Bennacer, Ante Rebic, Theo Hernandez, Simon Kjaer, Alexis Saelemaekers and the elder Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Most recently during the summer transfer window, that was the case with Brahim Diaz.

Following the defeat in the last match against Lille in the Europa League, Sparta Prague and their fans will be hoping for a better result here. In that match, Sparta Prague had 49% of his time on the ball and four tackles, including two on target, the only player to score for Sparta Prague was Bořek Dočkal (46′). There were 26 goals in the previous six games that Sparta Prague had played, the opponents having conceded nine of them. Srdan Plavsic missed Sparta Prague’s Europa League group stage opener due to suspension but was free to return. However, the away side are now without Ladislav Krejci II, after his red card against Lille last week while David Hancko, Ondrej Celustka, Dominik Plechaty and Lukas Stetina were all sidelined for the away side.
